i just want to share my experience in using this mode of treatment against hexa infection on FHs. i had a bad case of hexa infection on almost all of my fhs, big and small early this year. after treating one fish after another with metronodezole for almost 3 months, i almost give up and was contemplating on 'destroying' the worse cases. then i read about bob2vaifh mentioning deworming medicine. at that time i dont see any connection in using this medication on the treatment of hexa. i thought it was only for treatment on a host of intestinal parasites like tapeworm, hookworm, etc. . i never thought at that time that fishes are also host for these parasites. so i search the net and came across an article on diseases of tropical freshwater fishes. in that article it mention a study on intestinal parasite infection and its treatment. i learn that having an intestinal infection, the digestive system of the fish will weaken and a host of secondary infection will set in. one of these infection is hexamita. the article recommended treatment using deworming medicine. it so happen that this is the generic name given to me by a mercury salelady when i inquire about a deworming medicine.
so this is what i did:
medicine used:
a: 1 pc mebendazole 500mg.
b: 1 pc. metronodezole 500mg
c: drop of malachite green according to dosages.
pound a+b into powder and dissolve in hot water. pour solution into tank asap. administer c. during this time feed sparingly. do w.c. every otherday or three X a week ( the bigger the tank the lesser the frequency of w.c.) administer metronodezole after every w.c.
